Introduction:
The goal of Lab 1 is to become accustomed to different spatial data sets that are used in administration, land use and land management and to construct base maps for the Eau Claire Confluence Project.
Methods:
The first step was to become familiar with the Eau Claire geodatabases after adding them to ArcCatalog so they would be easier to maneuver through. After that, the world base map data was added to ArcMap and the map frames were created. Each map has a title, scale, legend, and appropriate colors to determine separate data. The maps for this lab needed to be cartographically pleasing to the viewer along with containing the aspects of clarity and legibility.
Results:
The results contains six different overview maps of Eau Claire, each relating to the Confluence Project. The site of this project is located downtown near a high population. The zone of this location is public property or central business district. The location of the project is on a confluence of land use as well as the confluence of the Chippewa River and the Eau Claire River.
